Their operation is being liquidated this month. Unless someone buys 'em and cranks it back up, they're done. Daniel Defense was close about a year or so ago. Maybe they'll pull it out as well.

I don't know enough about them to really know why, but it seemed to me they did a bad job of marketing their products. While any Ar noob knows of Noveske, DD, BCM, and Colt. Few know anything about Sabre or the quality of the product line.

They sponsor one of the big 3-Gun matches I think in Tennessee. It's pretty sad when an AR company is going out of business, considering the past two years was pretty good for them.

Haha, what is the timing, I have a Sabre complete upper about to be shipped to me. Fortunately I got it used, so I'm not impacted by this. But darn. It'll be a fossil before I even get my hands on it.

    Except possibly the warranty issue...

I think the AR market in terms of "manufacturers" is pretty overcrowded. There's really only so many people that forge uppers&lowers, make barrels, BCG's, etc...so a wise consumer can buy nearly the same exact product for less from someone else. I think the "high end" AR companies are a dying breed and the little guys with better economics like Spike's will prevail if things get bad.

I think BCM putting out such a good product at such good prices put a pretty good hurting on all the top tier builders.

BCM has a great business model. Being a Manufacturer, regardless of product quality, margin, and volume, is very risky, IMO. It takes huge volumes to make it economical at all, and then you have marginal markup to dealers, etc. Manufacturing at the same time you model your products off of other proven companies which you also sell...makes for a safer bet. Their volume from other products sells their own product. They won't be going anywhere.
