Just received an e-mail saying SOG has surplus British .303 in stock. $520.00 for a case of 1,000 rounds.

I know we have oodles of SMLE owners on the forum.

Seemed like good info to share.

Yup, the Pakistani or Indian stuff is bad, lots of maypops. If it actually Is British it should be Ok.

Those maypops must be available in several different calibers.

I have some in 7mm and 8mm Mauser.

Yeah it can happen but the world is not overflowing in surplus 303 anymore. I estimate its about 46 dollars worth of bullets if you had to pull them in the 250 rnd can not including time and figuring for shipping. Midway has 303 hornady spitzers on sale right now for like 23 dollars though. Alot off misfires can actually be related to head gap and out of spec rifles if they've been around a bit but that's not always the case sometimes its just bad ammo. I looked at a similar thread on another forum and no one even recognized the crate. Could be some good plinkers in there though, you never know.

I'm pretty sure I only paid $69 for my Enfield back when I was a kid... 20 cent a round back then and I thought that was expensive. Lol
