I recieved a warning from the BPD via the Patterson park neighborhood association that there have been several reports of a black female walking into elderly people's houses and taking whatever she can stuff into her pockets or hold as she runs out.

    Stay safe!

    ATTENTION SENIOR CITIZENS
    OF THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICT

There have been a couple of robberies pertaining to a black female approximately 5’ 7”, weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has short black hair, very thin looking and she is middle age. She was last seen wearing glasses and a black jacket.
The suspect approaches individuals asking if that individual remembers her. She convinces them that she was at the hospital with them. The suspect then proceeds to follow them into the house, while the individuals have things to carry. While inside the house she asks for a drink. At that point the individual goes to get her a drink. She then quickly excuses herself to go to the bathroom. She doesn’t wait for an answer or directions, and just goes upstairs. It is at that point she goes through that person’s property and takes what she can by
stuffing the articles (money, jewelry etc.) in her pockets. Then she excuses herself quickly and leaves.
If you come across a black female thin with short hair with or without glasses waiting outside your home or following you, do not
go inside your home! Go straight to the nearest corner and flag
down a police officer, or go inside a store and call 911. If she comes knocking on your door, do not open to see who it is. First look out your window. No matter how persistent she is about being from the
hospital, do not let her in! Then call 911.
