Used to get the Tripwire newsletter on a regular basis, then one day they up and disappeared. It just came to mind again and I'm curious if anyone knows what happened to Mr. Purtilo and his newsletter? It was a fantastic source for election information and other goings on

Bitter old man found out that insulting and attacking other activists was a losing strategy. Further, he was attacking pro gun legislators in an effort to place the NRA reps father into that seat.

    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I didnt agree with many of his tactics and positions, but there was a long time when there was just about nobody fighting the good fight in MD. So, I thank him for his investment and passion through those times.

For decades Jim Purtillo was one of the handfull fighting the 2A fight in Md . In recent years he has been at odds with other newer groups over tactics and stratagies.

No...it was him being at odds with not being the one calling the shots like the wizard behind the curtain.

Maryland gun owners voted with their money and he simply went out of business.

For you guys that think he was such a swell guy, you might want to refresh your memory.

I didnt read anyone call him a swell guy.

Yeah I didn't comment on her personality. All I said was that the newsletter had good information in it especially around election time. Not surprised there was some friction between him and the other groups (just like the NRA and GOA/JPFO) but that isn't always a bad thing
