I have a Magpul MOE rifle stock on a 308 bull barrel AR rifle. It is very nose heavy.

I would prefer not to need to switch to an A2 stock with a lead weight.

To balance it out, I filled the buttstock with 20 308 rounds. I was debating putting taking out the ammo and putting in a cleaning kit.

    1. How much does a 308 Ar cleaning kit weigh? I was debating getting a regular AR cleaning kit and swapping the brush for a 308 one.
    2. Aside from the cleaning kit or ammo, what else should I put back there that would add weight, but possibly be useful?

Maybe I should just buy a PRS.

Thoughts from the braintrust on the above?

    Thanks,
    Richard

Get a buttstock mag holder and also throw the cleaning kit in there. Try lightening the front end also. Or adding a bipod.

The only choice with bull barrels is lead in the butt, you want the balance around the Delta ring. There's a reason my White Oak Precision AR-15 weighs 17-1/2 pounds.

Damn....17 pounds? I don't think I've ever held an AR that heavy.

Yep, National Match rifle with floating handguard and ultra heavy barrel under the handguard (Satern stainless that's basically a bull from the barrel extension to the FSB). Took 3-3/4 pounds of lead in the butt to balance but it is one stable beast, even in offhand.

I'll probably put my a2 stock on and put an adjustable buttplate on that. If I need to, Atlantic guns sells the lead,
