i used to buy these by the thousands and shoot the heck out of them.. little more accurate than ball ammo. also used to get the 173 match bullets. Talon ammo was pulling old 3006 ammo and you could buy it on the surplus market. gibrass.com - jeff Barlett sold tons of it. 10 years ago I saw it on gunbroker going for > $1 each. I put an auction on there for 1000 of them for 1200. Guy reached out to me and was testing armor plating... I had about 5000. he came to my house and paid me $6000 for the bullets. he said these were some of the best AP bullets ever made. i still have about 5000 of the 173 match bullets. hope you get what you want. I kept about 100 of the AP bullets. had to share that story... merry christmas - doug

I figured you would have had some experience with these......for me, the Holy grail was always finding the blue tips. Super rare and very useful for our holiday shoots. They light propane tanks like a champ. Only made a couple years during the war, then US switched to .50bmg in wing guns instead of 3006 and production shifted. I think big sky Bob was the last guy to run out of em. The commercially made ones weren't nearly as good so now it's. 50 to light off tanks.
