All they need to remember is Concord and Lexington.

That's the problem, they wouldn't even get the reference. These people think the "Tea Party" is made up of rich white people and got it's name from "Taxed Enough Already" and have no clue they named themselves after the Boston Tea Party (or even what the BTP was all about).

The only history they care about reaches all the way back to Carter. The rest they either revise or ignore as unimportant to modern society.

According to Dwyer yesterday, there will NOT be a pro-2a rally on the 1st! Don't let the anti-s getyou to come down and increase THEIR presence. WBAL will report they have 20,000:

HB 294 the House cross file of SB281 will be heard in Judiciary Committee along with a host of other gun bills (follow the link then scroll down to March 1st to view the committee schedule)

Please note: THERE WILL NOT BE A PRO GUN RALLY ON MARCH 1ST There is an Anti Gun Rally that day at lawyers mall- they hold the permit and we will not be permitted to occupy the mall, nor do we want to in order to not add numbers to their group!!

Just to be clear, there is no rally on Lawyer's Mall. Gun Control advocates got the permit for that day. We still need thousands to show up to testify.

    I'm tellin 'ya...this is a done deal.

I'm trying to figure out how to sell my house now. Talking to a realtor. I might have to tap into my 401K to pay it down enough to sell.

Permit my ass... It's called the First Amendment, people...!!!

Grab your balls, and go tell these people we've had enough...

If you're going to follow some law that is unconstitutional, meaning you need a piece of .Gov issued paper, to protest .Gov (see the irony here)...

Then you may as well bend over and hand over your Second Amendment, right now..!

It's not just about free speech & religion you know...!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Sad, but not surprising, these same characters will get re-elected again, and again, and again.

I guess the good news from the amendments, they at least are going to use lube...

He's gone in 2014. He promised over 100 of us at his meeting that he wouldn't pass this unless the licensing was ditched. His amendment failed so he rolled over like a little baby. I will personally work/donate to see him get voted out.

    +1

I was at that meeting too (Brochin). I also sent quite a few emails to his office, and from his responses I figured he was on our side. Boy was I wrong.

To all those who think the "2 feature test" makes this AWB ban the same as the 94 one, you are wrong.
The only person who thinks this is Frosh.

The banned list still exists, and can be updated at MSP's leisure. The 2 feature test only applies to 'COPYCAT' firearms. The AR-15, AK, and virtually every other modern rifle worth having is still banned according to the list of banned"assault WEAPONS.'
"Worth having" is a broad category. The two-feature test, if it's as described, gives us back HBAR AR-15s (with comps and fixed stocks), Tavors (albeit with a long barrel to maintain 30" OAL), and any number of newer rifles. You're right that the banned "assault long guns" list is going to bump off a lot of old favorites, though. I am HOPING that MSI gets it together and gets an amendment to nuke the old named lists of long guns and pistols.

That said, I've heard varying reports about what exactly "two feature test" means in the context of this bill. Someone claimed that detachable mags were now a "feature", which is a problem if true. We're going to have to wait for the new text, I suppose.

So does that mean I have to register my HBAR because it wasnt a regulated weapon when i bought it?
That is what it looks like. All AR15s are banned under the bill.

ETA: checked the bill and HBAR is still exempt(!), but 2 feature test will apply.

Is the license for new handgun purchases or for existing handguns that someone already owns?

OTOH...when life give you lemons, make lemonade. Crazy Uncle Joe just told us the other day to buy a shotgun....SO, we need to make sure that every shotgun flies off the shelf.

Politicians like to keep their jobs b/c they maintain their power. There are Democrats that could be in trouble as a result of this extremist bill. It is time to focus on Democrats in conservative areas, and let it be known money and foot soldiers will be unleashed in their districts to remove them next year.

Muse and Brochin likely fit that bill. Additionally, any senator that votes for this from the ES, Western MD, AA Cty, Calvert Cty, St Mary's Cty, Harford Cty, Frederick Cty, Howard Cty, Harford Cty, Baltimore Cty and Carroll Cty are perfect targets. Basically anywhere but Baltimore, PG and Mo Cty. It is wasted energy to have further communication with politicians from those areas.

Unfortunately, there needs to be some organization to target these people from conservative areas. This would allow for funding to be funneled against these people and for "boots on the ground" to knock on doors, man phone banks and drive people to polls.

Does something like this exist? If so, it is time to begin preparations and to make it known to every senator that comes from these areas that we are coming for them if they support this bill. Only when they feel the fire will they see the light.

Muse IS IN PG county, a complete douche but nothing will happenn to him

Where is the NRA? I have friends that bought lifetime memberships for not only themselves, but for their wives and kids, just to make sure the NRA gets some money. What is needed is a good lobbying effort by someone with a solid track record, the NRA can provide that.

Two feature or not two feature they don't care ... this is just entrapment ... you say this a compensator or a choke they say it is a flash hider .... you "think" you are in compliance they KNOW you f'd up and it is just reason for them to take ALL your guns .... that is how it is going to happen.

Anybody here I hear saying, phewwww my stuff is good to go, or phewww don't need a license to own my pistols .... if you manage not to break the law one way or the other you will be bred out and your children will certainly have lost your temporary privileges.
