I need to finalize my trust and get on this e-form bandwagon!

I submitted a form 1 in October and a form 4 in December via snail mail.:sad20: Now that I'll be using a trust I'll probably do another form 1 and maybe 1 or 2 more form 4's.:innocent0

Mind if I ask whether you submitted your snail mail form 1 after 10/1? If so did you have to go through any extra CLEO scrutiny re: your OAL?

I know what MSP said about post-10/1 treatment of SBRs but to-date I haven’t heard any concrete examples yet.

I actually sent it right before and it was received by the ATF on 9/25, check cashed on 10/3.

I put 10.3in barrel and 26in OAL but I didn't accurately measure how long it would be in reality. I got sign-off from my county (Harford) sheriff and didn't hear anything from him except his secretary called me to confirm my mailing address.

Once I get my trust squared away I'll report back after I try and SBR another one of my stripped lowers.

Got it in right under the wire, understood and thanks.

If you could update based on your experience that'd be terrific. The issue will eventually be settled but I still haven’t seen an actual policy on paper and I'm sure others are curious about it too.

Will do! If they don't allow me to I hope they at least refund my money lol.

Does anyone know if I cancel a form 4 in the queue will they refund my money? I'd like to re-file it electronically.

Your $200 will definitely be refunded after a form 4 cancellation. It'll just take several months before its back in your pocket.

Same with eForm too; if you're disapproved your $200 is refunded (much more quickly though).

Be careful if the form4 was for an AR or other banned configuration (OAL, etc.) No one is sure yet that they will be approved if applied for post Oct1. You've already waited 3 mo. I'd just be patient and sit the next ~6out. Will only be a month or two diff by now. Im betting the eforms start taking longer. It was a new system and not tons were using it. Now that EVERYONE is using it to save time, the times will push out. Maybe not as long as paper filing as the data is pre-entered, but longer than the current ~3mo.

Well, I e-filed my first form 1 using my trust today.:party29:

It's a Noveske lower that I bought before October and my plan is to stick one of the 12.5" Crusaders on it.

Two questions though.. Did they do away with the 5330.20 (Certificate of Compliance) form? I hope I wasn't supposed to print and then attach one to the application online. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere though.

And the questions where you just "X" the boxes, when I clicked to view the form there were no boxes selected. Again, I didn't notice anything else to be completed in the e-form.

That's all normal from what I have experienced. Although, I haven't received my efile Form 1 stamps back yet, so take my experience with a grain of salt.

Please post if anyone receives a SBR form 1 approval via a trust that was originally applied for on or after 10/1. Curious and anxious if ATF is looking at them differently...

    Thanks.

    Aaaand you're off and running...congrats. :D

I didn't need a 5330.20 with any of my submissions. All were approved.

No "x" is completely normal. All mine were exactly the same.

    Thanks.

Same here. If applied, I could see how banned copies and OAL would be taken into consideration but obviously the copycat features test would be a complication for stripped receivers. We'll see...

Thanks! I did my first form 1 in September and said to myself "I don't need a trust. I'm only going to build one SBR."

Fast forward three months and I've done a form 4 (paper), another form 1 (e-file), and will likely do another form 4 (e-file) very soon.:o:innocent0

Is there a way w/ efile to check to see what the status of the app is? They charged my card way back but don't know if Im pending, approved, or whatever. I can't find anything online.

Okay I read the thread and I went online to the ATF.

I am going to be dense...
What am I missing. On Line the ATF said a FFL had to submit for e-file.
Are you submitting on your own or is your FFL doing it for you and if you are doing it on your own can someone please post a link to get me started.

    Thank you in advance.

Log back into the efile system. It will give you a status on the left side.
Its not terribly descriptive, mine said "in progress" for ages.

What are you looking at? Are you logged in and looking at a form 1 or form 4?
Using form 1 as an example, in the applicant section you just check the "no ffl" box and enter your trust info.

Efile doesn't work for individuals, trusts only.... well and FFLs doing business.
