2016 mortality data for kids aged 5-24(i know....18-24 aren't "kids"...but it's how the data was broken up)
    Firearm suicides 5-24………….… 2,843
    Non-firearm suicides5-24……. 3,323

    Firearm accidental death 5-24…. 160
    Auto crashes…………………………… 8,147
Thanks. Although it doesn't breakdown for 17 and under (which this legislative supposedly is trying to protect), the 24 and under numbers were higher than I expected with firearms.

Is the state going to buy us all these supposed quick access gun safes?

And have they noted the quick access gun safes are often shown to be quickly defeated by youths on YouTube? In fact, the kids are probably more adept at defeating them than someone like me.

They're national numbers. With well north of 300,000,000 people, that represents a very, very small percentage of deaths.

Prosecutorial discretion as a cover for badly written legislation - what a bs response.

Guys it was great being with you fine upstanding Americans. What a privilege it was to see some of our finest sheriff's standing up for the 2A fight. Bride and I hung around until around 7:00 . I had to get her home (2 hour ride back) due to her doing grandma duties at 5:30 am. I feel we did a great job and just wanted to thank every one of you that made the sacrifice to come on down and be heard! Couldn't ask to be affiliated with a better group of people!! We will NOT comply!!!!

We heard a lot of that today. "If legal gun owners are caught in this trap the prosecutor has a lot of discretion".

    Yeah. F that.

Not every SA is Marilyn Moseby and not every jurisdiction is Baltimore City.

I have a handgun vault on my nightstand with a push button electronic lock. I also have a gun safe next to my bed where I keep my home defense shotgun, an AR-15, and my VZ-58. Like an idiot I kept the keychain with keys to all my gun safes inside the handgun vault, thinking if something went bump in the night and I had no time I would grab a handgun from the vault but if I did have time, like someone kicking the front door to open it, I would grab the keys, open the big gun safe, and go to work with whichever weapon I grabbed first from the big safe. Well, the batteries died for the handgun vault and both keys for it were locked inside. A YouTube video, a screwdriver, and 45 seconds later I had popped open the handgun vault, replaced the batteries in it, and made sure I didn't put the keys back in there.
