I have been unable to locate any law this session that requires registration of existing firearms. Please point me to which one you are referencing.
    Huh, I misread then.

So,... if that's not true than everyone (literally) can just say,....."what....THIS?, nah, this was pre 2013".

    Tough to prove otherwise, no?

So, if this bill passes and there is no grandfather clause (God forbid), and the state doesn't know the whereabouts of a bunch of HBARs purchased after 2013, how are these a$$holes going to round them up?

    In short, what HBAR?
    :innocent0

    I sold it.

I don't know who the guy was. He paid cash.

How are they going to know by looking at you shooting at the range that A: It's an HBAR and B: it was purchased after 10/13?

Wonder what this will do for GAS Piston builds after 10/13. That is the route I took.

I believe that if the police are into you to the point they're measuring your barrel or running down purchase dates, you are already in deep shit and they are just piling charges on.

Like being afraid the DNR is going to come to your house to measure all your water skiing ropes to make sure none are illegally too long. Been the law for well over 50 years, but so far the DNR hasn't raided anyone's house - yet

Don’t get me started on the g’damnned fishcops!!!!

I had one write me a yellow warning ticket on an expired sticker for a Glastron tri-hull that’s been dry-rotting on a trailer behind my garage so long it had sapplings growing out of it. It hadn’t been in the water since Clinton was in office.

He told me he went back behind my fence looking for a gut pile, because he said he “saw vultures circling” therefore that was “evidence of possible poaching activity”. No warrant, no asking, nothing. Just straight up trespassing. And when I caught him back there, and he knew he was busted, he wrote me out a warning for an expired sticker on a boat that hadn’t been used in 10 years.

As I was showing him off my property, I told him I was leaving my dogs out full time after that. Told him to be careful and knock first if he ever wanted to come back, because he wouldn’t be able to shoot them all before one of them got to him. He got the message. Never saw him again.

DNR (in MD) aren't bound by property lines, fences.... nothing.

To my knowledge, they can enter a property at will without warning or warrant. That was what we were told a few years ago while being checked. We also told the guy if he was going to take any longer he'd need to go ahead and get IN the blind so we could stop fugging around and kill birds.

Pretty much what the DNR has persuaded the courts to rule in MD.

Holy crap. That's effin BS on his part. Did you have to do anything about the warning ticket?

Of ALL the Police interactions I've ever heard second hand, the most negative have come from peeps I know on their random encounter from Natural Resources Police.

A friend of mine received a citation in his driveway due to the registration sticker on his Jet Ski was in the wrong place or something, dude lives literally 1 minute drive time from the Marina and the Cop followed him from the Marina to his house. I'm not sure if he got shitty with the cop, or if he really did/did not have the registration sticker in the right place, he said he did but it's still funny to do this day the dude whipped into his driveway "Woop woop" LOL

60+ years of interaction with DNR, all my experiences have been positive or neutral. I've heard a few bad stories and recall a few officers who insisted on the letter of the law, but in general, I'd rather deal with them than any other LEO's.

Also to remember - everyone of them has advanced first aid training in case YOU need it somewhere way out in the boonies.
