It's best to not take a chance. I've never liked fish other than when I was a wee lad, I ate Fish Sticks and we all know they're more bread than fish. Slopped a bunch of ketchup on them. I probably have only eaten 5 or 6 fish meals in my adult life.

I will take a bite of stuff rockfish when the wife orders it while we're out. But that's mostly for the crab imperial, not the rockfish.

Fish is bad, no eat fish.....

I used to love fish sticks. Used to love rockfish. Something happened one day and now any fish makes me sick for days from both ends. What's odd is I can still eat canned salmon and tuna just not anything fresh.

Hey, you learned where to buy muskrat and learned the truth about fake scallops. This is one of the most informative non-firearm threads there's been in awhile.

Yeah...I would NOT do that if I were you. It is not as fresh as you think.

This. People think it's fresh because they can smell fish and produce in those stores. The opposite is true. You smell it because it's rotting.

Not to mention the fact that the EC Lotte has been closed by the health department at least three times in recent history due to rats, and other violations.

Only been getting the flash frozen tuna and salmon from there and making sushi out of it for 7 years now without any ill side effects. Luckily, I don't think the rats got into the packaging in the frozen fish section. I would hope my wife would be smart enough to leave packages with holes in them on the shelf in the freezer section. Now, when she sends me to get the fish, roe, etc., we could be in trouble.

Most of the Koreans we know swear by Lotte, and then along came H-Mart. I like H-Mart better anyway. Brighter and roomier than Lotte.

That would be a side order of poorly prepared Fugo.

Since the thread has drifted so far, I'll take it to the ultimate drift...
Multiple genera of Pufferfish throughout the world contain Tetrodotoxin (TTX), a very potent neurotoxin, as a poison (injested) to avoid being eaten. Conversely, Blue Ring Octopi/Octopuses (Hapalochleana sp) use the identical TTX as a venom (injected) to stun their prey.
Think about that for a minute... A fish in Florida and an octopus in Australia have the exact same complex toxin within their bodies.

I used to trap muskrat in the marshes in Essex. The old Bayside Sorting Good Shop on Eastern Avenue would pay $5.00 a pelt. Thanks to my training from my master butcher dad, I was able to get another $5.00 for the cleaned carcass from the St. Stephen's AME Church on Back River Neck Rd!

I wonder if all the people that have fallen on their swords in this thread know that Rack is back under a new name, and they're still left out in the cold?
