Typical, just recently got a TX 22 Competition (which seems okay so far) and Sig comes out with this. Looks like yet another 22 pistol in my future.

Sig will sell A LOT of these if the price point is just 400 bucks.

A buddy just picked one of these up. How is it? I've heard a decent amount of good about it, but can't get past the name lol

I don’t have a lot of rounds through it yet just one trip to the range with it approx 100 rounds shot to get a feel for it and adjust the sights. The trigger feel is different than what I am used to in my other 22 pistols (Ruger Mark II and Mark IV Lite) but obviously a different design. The more I shot the better the trigger felt as I acclimated to it and got a feel for the reset. I may get a Tandemkross trigger for it because it has a flat face and is adjustable for “pre and post travel”.

The accuracy was okay I was getting 2 to 3 inch groups at 10 yards (indoor range sitting on a range stool using a rubber block as a makeshift rest to get sighted in). The one concern is I did get 3 or 4 “stovepipe jams” during the range session. I only used one type of ammo (Federal Automatch) and only had one of the magazines with me to try. I don’t know if the jams were the fault of the gun, the ammo, or my shooting as I am okay but a long way from an expert pistol guy. I did do a quick clean and lube before the range session. I plan to clean and lube the gun and head back to the range with all 3 mags it shipped with and some additional brands of ammo to try to see if I can get it running with no jams.

Good to hear. I think my buddy wants to mostly shoot steel challenge with it, so pinpoint accuracy isn't a huge deal.

The stovepipes may just be the ejector breaking in, or there's some factory preservative still in there. I have decent reliability with the federal ammo in all my rimfires, just not the greatest accuracy lol.

Just wanted to follow up with info on second TX22 range outing yesterday. As noted I cleaned the gun (paying close attention to the extractor) and I also installed my Vortex Viper Red Dot. I took all 3 magazines and 4 types of ammo to try.

I started with CCI Mini Mags to sight in the Red Dot and start shooting groups. I also shot groups with some Remington Golden Bullet HV, Aguila solid point HV, and at the end shot a couple more mags of the Federal Auto Match as a control.

Good news is only one stovepipe jam and that was at the end of the session on the first mag of the Fed AutoMatch. No other failures with the other 3 brands of ammo (or the other mag of AutoMatch). So it seems the jams I experienced were ammo related (and note the Fed AutoMatch is slightly less velocity than the other 3). The interesting thing is on ALL the jams I experienced it was the first shot. I would install mag, release slide to load, fire the shot and get the stovepipe. I would then rack slide to clear jam and the rest of the mag would run clean with no more jams…it happened only on the first shot.

Accuracy was much improved as well (which is probably 80% the red dot and maybe 20% the ammo brand). I must admit shooting irons at any more than short pistol range is getting more challenging with my aging eyes and “uncorrected” vision. In the first range session I shot groups mostly about 2 inches with flyers and pulls taking some out to 3 inches. Yesterday (after getting sighted in) most everything was inside 1.5 inches and several groups of the CCI (which it liked the best) inside a inch. Again all shooting was at 10 yards using a rubber block on a range cart as a makeshift rest.

I also did a quick “mag dump” at the end which also ran with no failure. I am pleased with the gun so far and enjoy shooting it. I have a Tandemkross Compensator and extractor coming for it and still may consider their trigger for it as well. Hope this info helps and your buddy is happy with his TX22 as well.

If you bought the Game Changer compensator, you will be very happy with it. I now have them on all my .22 pistols. They might be expensive but they work! :party29:

Yes I did, actually ordered the Game Changer Pro.

We have experience with Tandemkross. We got a Game Changer Pro, Halo Charging Ring, and HiveGrips for my wife’s MKIV 22/45 Lite that also has a Vortex Venom on it. Expensive but really happy with Tandemkross products.

I would really like to try their TX22 trigger but 50 bucks is pretty stiff for what is a pretty small piece of machined aluminum (although I understand you are paying for design, engineering, and tooling as well…

The P322 is on the list for the next roster meeting... will be available by mid-late August depending on how fast the results hit the Register.

I have a pro squared. Do you spray anything on it to make it clean easier? Occasionally it gets leaded up pretty bad and I have to soak it in bore cleaner and pretty much chip off the lead. I don’t have an ultrasonic cleaner which probably would make it easier.

After experimenting, I found a process that works pretty well. I use a spray called Deep Creep made for Marine engines. I found that if I spray it on and leave it overnight and then shoot a mag or two of copper plated ammo, it tends to blow off the lead that built up from shooting. It doesn't make it brand new only dipping it over night in Shooters Choice lead remover does that, but it cleans a big chunk of it.

If my suppressors ever get here, I will be buying an ultrasound cleaner and that will be much easier.
