Novus - Great work pointing out the BS statistics the anti's uses. Good show calling out the inflation to fit their case.

I was wondering (to everyone), maybe Robo-Helmke will resign as the head parrot from the BC if the ban is struck down. Then again, I hope not, because his voice is so easy to make fun of and imitate. I know its juvenile, but a few drinks and a little "Fire Marshall Bill" inspiration gets my friends rolling when I make fun of him. :)

Yes, I was wearing a dark jacket with the blue hat.
    What kind of footage?

I believe one shot was an older guy with a MSI hat on speaking to the Fox News reporter and you were a row of folks behind him...

    The other shot.
And I am not sure who the older sharply dressed anti was who was speaking to Fox News and you were directly lined up with the camera and in plain view.
AWESOME display of the MSI hat!

It was at the last five minutes of the Hannity and Combs show.

    Great Job!

I think his time is short regardless of the outcome. I caught an interview with him a couple days ago and he was saying that he didn't "want to be doing this forever". Maybe we've worn him down.

Short clip on the hearings. The good stuff is at the very beginning where you get to see the tron who is some sort of DC council member with his sign and then a really good shot of a couple of our members holding a banner.

After that, it's the usual stuff you've been seeing on the TV news.

Why did Paul Clement the Bush adminsistration's attorney argue for the governments right to ban "certain Firearms"?

Like plastic guns designed to defeat metal detectors? If you ban imaginary plastic guns, only imaginary criminals will have the imaginary plastic guns.

Thanks to all who were down there int he name of freedom! My two favorite quotes of this whole historical day have to be by Novus destroying that chick parroting the Brady crap:

One of my favorite moments is when the Brady lady tried to dismiss my reciting figures proving the ones on their signs were false by saying "then you tell the CDC their numbers are wrong" and I responded, "lady, I AM citing the CDC statistics!!".
    :lol2:

and by Justice Scalia destroying that pinhead DC laywer who was insitsing that the 2A was implemented to protect state-run militias:

I don't see how there's any, any, any contradiction between reading the second clause as a -- as a personal guarantee and reading the first one as assuring the existence of a militia, not necessarily a State-managed militia because the militia that resisted the British was not State- managed. But why isn't it perfectly plausible, indeed reasonable, to assume that since the framers knew that the way militias were destroyed by tyrants in the past was not by passing a law against militias, but by taking away the people's weapons -- that was the way militias were destroyed. The two clauses go together beautifully: Since we need a militia, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Another thank you to all that attended. I really wanted to make it, as I work in DC, but damned meetings that I could not skip kept me tied up all day. Thanks again!

    John Galt Speaking.
I'm curious to compare the crime rates of states like Maryland, etc that do not make a CCW permit easy vs. those that do.

    I'm sure it would shocking.

Interestingly enough, you can do it (I did). If you go to the Brady's website, they "grade" each state by how bad they're gun laws are. If you assign a number to each grade (F=1, D-=2, and so on) and plot that against murders per 100,000, it's scary how tightly they correlate.

:goodpost: We need that chart posted! I bet it would be very popular on all the gun forums. Someone needed that chart being held as a sign behind Helmke when he was in front of the cameras yesterday. The Brady's would have had a cow!

    Post the chart

NEVERMIND: I found it here... http://www.swivel.com/data_sets/spreadsheet/1010770 not a clear as you would hope.

Honestly, from all the research I've done. The stats can go for us or against us, just like they can go for or against the Bradys. Crime will always exist. Socioeconomic status and geographic location have a lot to do with crime rates.

For me it's not a numbers game. Plainly we have a right to self-defense. That is the bottom line. A free citizen is armed, bottom line. You really shouldn't have to argue much about it.

For decades people have been arguing things using arbitrary correlations and statistics while ignoring the underlying issues. The RKBA issue is a moral and human issue, not a mathematical equation, IMO.

brady grade v violent crime.jpg i'm thinkin we have better data out there to support our side...i made a chart of the average violent crime rate for the states under each grade....x axis is brady grade from 1-13, y axis is violent crime rate listed...didnt know how to put the chart on so took a picture of my comp screen, low tech but it works......i'll do it for property crime and see what happens...

....not sure how valid the brady grade on gun control is and that's the main determinate. D.C. has a lower grade than maryland..if DC(a total ban discrict) had the highest gun control rate, the data would look different. at the very least it proves that gun control has no correlation with crime rates...in other words, gun control does nothing to drop crime if you assume cultural and socioeconomic differences between states dont matter in this study
