Is this the calipers you are talking about?
That's as inexpensive as anything on Amazon. But you are saying that the iGaging calipers are much, much better quality than most?
I'm not sure who you were referring to but I'm the one that got this whole discussion started. I WISH I had a Mitutoyo but mine was more of the Harbor Freight variety. It served me well for all these years but yesterday's drop on the hardwood floor seems to have done it in. I don't know if it...
Yeah...I've been looking at both as well. So tempting.
Lots of options on Amazon in the $25-30 range...I just have NO idea whatsoever about the quality of them. Hoping someone has had good experiences with something less expensive that a Mitutoyo or a Starrett.
Adjustable but apparently there are times that it drops and it throws something off inside. Right now when the calipers are closed completely, the "0" is at the 6:00 position on the dial. I can adjust the needle to that point but then any time I'm measuring something it's upside down. Kinda...
I've heard Mitutoyo is absolutely top rate. So I was just on eBay myself a minute ago. That link is to one at a great price...especially for a new set of calipers. The problem...the seller has only one previous sale and is selling four sets for probably 40% of what they should be selling for...
I guess I dropped 'em once too often. The dial on my calipers shows .050 when fully closed so unless I want to look at it upside down or do the math every time I use them...time to get new calipers.
Recommendations for good quality calipers? Not GREAT quality...I probably won't want to spend...
My calipers seem to have gone on the fritz. Anyone have a fairly nice used set that you want to sell? Don't need the best but not bargain basement either.
It looks as though Kuhnhausen did some slight expansion of the original…perhaps not much…and made that Volume 1 after creating entirely new and updated material for what he called Volume 2.
I put a RIA 38 Super barrel in a TISAS 9mm 1911. Everything seemed to fit fine but…
1) Consistent FTF issues even with a variety of magazines and ammo.
2) If I hand feed an individual round, some will chamber okay and some not.
3) If a round does chamber, it fires just fine but shots are...
Awesome!
So I need to learn something new here.
When you say that there was a ton of walnut media on them…I‘m pretty sure I did that. Without really looking at them first I dumped them all in the vibratory tumbler and let it run a really long time.
Why would that have built up on the...
Thanks for getting back to me. No one specific cartridge...the next project will be 38 Super and perhaps eventually 45 ACP and even 9mm. But in the meantime I reload for five or six different rifles as well.
Not really…I already have manuals for Berger, Lyman and Sierra. I’m just an old fashioned “real book” kinda person with some projects…like loading 38Super…coming up.
That will be my first foray into handgun reloading. But I already old for six different rifle calibers.
