I put a RIA 38 Super barrel in a TISAS 9mm 1911. Everything seemed to fit fine but…

    1) Consistent FTF issues even with a variety of magazines and ammo.
    2) If I hand feed an individual round, some will chamber okay and some not.
    3) If a round does chamber, it fires just fine but shots are pretty wild…like 7” group from 25 yards with the group being 7 or 8 inches to the right of my point of aim.

NOTE: the same barrel dropped into a RIA 9mm 1911 functioned flawlessly.

    What do I check next?

There may be a quick answer to your questions but, I sure don’t know what they are …

Having been down more than one 1911-related rabbit hole I will attempt to do you the solid of pointing you to the best 1911-related $ any 1911 owner or aficionado can invest!

    Vol II: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/101429146?pid=193148
Funny you should say that. I’m sitting here with the 1986 one volume version. I don’t know what is added by going to two volumes…

I’m several states away from our home library lest I would snap a photo of the Table of Contents from Vol II for you …

It looks as though Kuhnhausen did some slight expansion of the original…perhaps not much…and made that Volume 1 after creating entirely new and updated material for what he called Volume 2.

Remove the barrel in the misfeeding, scatter gunning set up. Look for hard strikes on the sides of the barrel hood extension. Also check for barrel spring and barrel bump. Do the barrel timing tests.
