I got into C&R because the first real rifle I bought was a Mosin Nagant because it, and its ammo, were so dirt cheap. After messing around with it I became rather fascinated with these old war horses and started buying up different rifles trying to find the one that fit me best. Eventually, I...
In order to fund the purchase of another rifle, I've decided to sell off a spare from my collection, my matching very good condition Yugo 59/66. Was coated in Cosmoline when I got it and has been thoroughly cleaned, oiled, and had its action lightly greased (my preference). I've sent around 200...
Given that it is a restraining order and NOT a conviction this is a very good ruling. The takings clause is VERY clear: without a conviction the government CANNOT deprive anyone of life, liberty, or property. Breun should not need to apply.
That's my take anyway.
For those who forgot, all C&R handguns (i.e. those 50 years old or older or declared as C&R by the ATF) can be purchased without an HQL. While this does narrow the pool significantly, there are many good guns from 1972 and earlier that you can buy.
As for the ruling, my interpretation is that...
In the need of funds like many others for the holidays, I am cutting a few items loose from my collection to raise money for other purchases without crippling my savings from this year.
To start, I would like to sell my Yugoslavian 59/66 SKS. Cosmoline cleaned off, excellent overall, for...
Awesome grab Mawkie. Shame that the provenance is muddy, but it would be equally interesting to me if that handgun was an example of a smuggled-in illegal sale. If true, that took some guts from Mauser to pull while trialing for military use! Either way, it is definitely a very interesting piece...
Thanks, the one I am hoping to close on is an E-block so not too late but neither too early. It's a beater in appearance but looks very mechanically sound. I found a spring for it at least (apparently there are part cross-overs there) so it should be doable. I'll put it up if I get it...
So... I'm bidding and likely to win a Radom Vis-35 soon for a VERY reasonable price. The catch? No Magazine Catch! The part seems to be unobtanium at present which is why I suspect the price is so low and no one wants to bite on it. Well... I do.
So, does anyone know if a substitute part...
There's a couple around, quite a few were imported but not that many were made overall compared to many other rifles of the era. A lot of Ross rifles are sporterized as well, or were built specifically as sporters for competition shooting (which they excel at). The best place to find a Ross is...
From my reading, the reason for denial is continuing allegations of mismanagement of funds and outright fraud by LaPierre and the other board members. Now, if the allegations were to be positively addressed I feel the bankruptcy proceedings would be acceptable.
I feel the next few months will...
Definitely nice and rare. I myself have a Brazilian 1908 Short (relatively rare as well) and it was beat to crap! They are definitely hard-used rifles but even nowadays can still shoot well on target.
Sounds like the kids hit the wrong car and got roasted by the owners who were no doubt involved in some illegal crap themselves.
Absolute mess, but it doesn't surprise me. Areas near major roadways where sprawl has developed and section 8 crept in will draw more trouble, always.
Wait, that might be the same place as the one my mother used to go to with her VW Beetle. We found out the guy there had been putting "questionable" parts into her 2000s beetle after the 3rd clutch replacement in 4 years.
If it's the same person, I believe he is, along with his sons, also...
