I saw somebody say something about materials elsewhere in this thread, most polymer frames have a metal insert for serialization, what about those that don't have an insert or provisions for one?
No problem.
It does make me wonder though... since the removal of the plate requires destroying the frame, but not the plate (correct?), one could theoretically remove the plate and use it on a newly printed or otherwise manufactured frame. If one wears out/breaks or you just want another...
This guy managed to add a plate to his 3d printed AR https://www.reddit.com/r/GunnitRust/comments/s7t2aq/how_do_yall_feel_about_this_mostly_3d_printed/
I don't recall if he shared the files but he does provide documentation as to how he did it. Still doesn't help those with existing builds...
I'm not super knowledgeable in a lot of things but I don't think the implication here is that a 3d printer is illegal. When crimes are committed aren't things that are related to or used in the commission of generally confiscated and held as evidence?
It's a pretty shite photo but it looks...
Or printing frames endlessly. Would be a good time to get one of the printers with a conveyer belt so that they just keep printing without any sort of interaction.
A boy can dream... would be nice to be able to get an AK without going the pistol route.
If the law were to be reversed/removed/what have you, would those that have gone through the process for an hql be eligible for a refund on the costs to acquire said hql?
I was going to bring this up. I purchased the jig back during the $20 preorder promo deal. They contacted me earlier this year to tell me that I wouldn't receive the jig unless I ordered a frame. After reminding them that was not the case during the preorder and to either send what I purchased...
I got there about 11 and left around 1230 after doing a few laps and taking a phone call.
For my first gun show I was... whelmed? The amount of knives kinda threw me off and I agree that many of the prices were at the "these are coming back with me" point. I did buy some target games, snap...
And? These are being made by private individuals for private use, not being sold. If the intent is to sell the seller would need an FFL of some sort and each firearm would have a serial number which negates the whole untraceable aspect.
If your concern is about the inability to hold another...
What if I made a scary looking black gun with components that were not black? Or put wood furniture on a scary looking black gun, think that'd be ok? Would give me an excuse build some guns.
Thats kinda the plan
My understanding is that's because there are generally thin margins on gun sales but yeah it is commonplace and as far as I can tell this is the only realm where it's considered acceptable. Good to know to expect that in person, so thanks.
How much is the entrance fee? I hate to admit this will be my first gun show assuming I can talk my wife into watching the kiddos for a little bit. And I assume cash is king but do people tend to take cards as well?
I guess that's what I don't get about their argument, the lack of logic.
From all the legislation and fear mongering my understanding is that in order for criminals and prohibited persons to not have weapons, the law abiding citizens shouldn't have weapons, because they then can't be stolen...
