Three months ago I ordered a lightweight AR15 CAR upper from Rock River. I am still waiting!
Anyone have any suggestions for a good lightweight CAR flattop upper with a free float hand guard? I live in Washington state so pencil barrels are OK for me. I just want it in stock!
Is anyone interested in participating in rimfire benchrest matches at AGC? It seems the closest ones are at Sanner's Lake in St. Mary's County. There is an indoor season at Piney Hill in Luray, VA too. I don't know of any similar matches at AGC.
I would be willing to look into it with my club...
Would an M&P with this rail only (no dot) be allowed in production classes for USPSA and IDPA or would it be considered a custom gun?

I am looking to build a lightweight 22lr upper. This is what I am currently thinking.
Beyer 16.5 barrel bull barrel threaded
Aero precision upper no forward assist
CMMG bolt
ALG 15" MLOK rail
Beyer Muzzle brake
CMMG charging handle
Current lower is a Colt HBAR with a Geissele National Match...
I took a Ruger 22/45 Lite to a match on Friday. I have put several hundred rounds down the pipe with this pistol and had no issues. But I usually don't load the magazines beyond 5 rounds (I am a bullseye shooter and so it is a habit). The match Friday was Steel Challenge so I loaded my magazines...
I hope I don't draw the wrath of the mods or masses on this. If I do, please feel free to delete or move the post.
I shoot primarily bullseye but I am also getting into rimfire sporter and steel challenge.
But in addition to shooting actual firearms, I spend a lot of free time on a game...
I shoot bullseye frequently but I am interested in trying other pistol competitions such as IDPA and Steel Challenge. As I require bifocals, I have a definite preference for competitions that allow red dot sights. It's just a b***h trying to get a good sight picture with irons most of the time...
I am looking at a Butler Creek folding stock for a Mini-30. Since the barrel is not threaded and has no flash suppressor or other "evil" feature, am I legal to put it in a folding stock in Maryland?
I am looking for a quality gunsmith in the Maryland DC suburbs (Montgomery, Howard, etc.). Some slide drilling/tapping on an M&P 45 to start. 1911 work likely to follow. Recommendations please. Thanks!
