I've got some large cnc machine tools that I'm planning on parting with. These are serious, industrial machines, not for the faint of heart to move, install, set up, etc (ranging from 3000 to 12,000 pounds). If you have a a serious interest, feel free to PM me.
So I've had a long standing interest in microwave back haul systems and their applicability to amateur radio. We're talking since back in the days of packet radio before widespread internet availability killed it - I always thought the next step was a microwave backbone/backhaul system that...
Or whatever you correctly call them. I've noticed a surge of both frogs and those blue salamander things this year. Frogs all over the place, plus a lot of some little green frog that 'barks'.
Anyone else?
Any MDShooters going?
I'm interested in this, but don't know much about it and was thinking of going up just to watch for an hour or so.
Was just wondering if anyone here else participates in these...
Got a buddy at work that wants to start shooting for hunting. I don't know much about what's decent out there these days. I've only ever had two bows - a Bear Whitetail II and a PSE Stinger 3G. I'd recommend a Stinger in a heartbeat (more bow than I've ever needed) but they are like $500 now...
Bird's been sitting over Jacks Creek Park area for at least 20 minutes, holding very tight station. Weird thing is he's got to be up at least 1000ft. WTH is he doing? At that altitude, can't be providing any close support. Not flying a search or spotlighting or anything, just sitting up...
Just saw this in a DNR email:
https://dnr.maryland.gov/wildlife/Documents/2020-2034MarylandWTDeerPlan.pdf
This is the proposed plan open to public comment.
In addition to being a management plan, it contains some interesting history on deer hunting in maryland. We all know there's a...
I just ordered one - Never done it. Hoping to dry out some of the things i harvest from the garden and also possibly some meals for a family trip to the Boundary Waters in a few weeks.
Any one else into this?
Anyone in SoCo homeschool their kids? I've got a little one going into Kindergarten next year (and another the following year) and am getting cold feet, especially given current events.
Before Covid, I never considered it/never could consider it, but after working form home for three...
They started a search yesterday afternoon after two people in a canoe/kayak were spotted getting blown offshore. I listened to EMS scanners late yesterday as they search and found a paddle. EMS stopped at dusk, but I believe CG kept looking through the night.
Reports today indicate that...
On the hoof, in the barn, in the coop, etc.
Tell us what you're raising, how to process, where to get stock, etc..
I've got yardbirds (Cochins and silver wyandotes), bees, and now rabbits (American Chincilla with some lionhead mixed in).
I need some better rabbit stock, so if you know...
Got a question for those of you that live in Western Maryland (Washington County and west). I'm always looking for land (even though I really can't afford it) out in that area for recreation/second home/cabin.
If you had to do over again, given Maryland's issues, would you go to WV or PA...
Just a shoutout to Jamaal of South County Sportsmen.
I was recently in the market for a Glock and was pleasantly surprised to find SCS in this IP section, and that they were so close to me in South County.
I didn't want to buy in a big box (Bass Pro), and there are few placed local to do a...
Anyone else see an awesome meteor go from south to north over the Bay/eastern shore at around 11:05 on Wednesday night? I saw it from the western shore - it was spectacular. Yellow ball with a bright green tail and 'stuff' coming off of it.
Saw it in another forum, confirmed on their website. Strange to read their website 'accolades' regarding growth etc., i.e., :
"Parker has been honored two years running as “The Fastest Growing Manufacturer in Virginia,” by Virginia Business Magazine.
As well, in two separate years Parker...
I was driving home from work in Southern AA on the last day of archery season last week. Out of the corner of my eye (doing 60) I caught a glimpse of a fairly large white animal talking through the woods about 80-100 yards off the road. At first, I thought it was actually a horse, but quickly...
