Been using SLR adjustable gas blocks for years, but just came across this "bleed off" type as opposed to a "cut off" type. Not sure I understand the benefit, but does anyone have any thoughts?

I know that pinning is the best way to secure a gas block, but what are your thoughts on staking the screws on a set screw gas block against a dimpled barrel?
I think the key here is the dimple on the barrel so the set screws aren't relying on friction/pressure alone, rather the screw(s)...

I purchased a jug of 300 blk brass from brassguys.com, which is made from LC 5.56 brass. Overall the brass looks great, but during my checks with a Wilson case gage I found the head spacing is .008 below the minimum step, meaning the headspace is too short, which seems like a lot to me.
