Marlin-Ballard .22? What exactly is this?

Post on ASSRA forum and you will get your answer. Do not sell that rifle. You should take it to the next Columbia Scheutzen match at Thurmont. PM me if interested in that endeavor.

Need recommendation on first Compound Bow for new teen hunter

I agree with recommendation to see Tim. I was sent there by an experienced bow hunter. I live in Towson and don't hesitate to drive to Mt Airey. He isn't a know it all but he probably does. He won't sell you something you don't need. I think your son would love a card that says we will be...

      Chert for fire starting

If anyone is interested, I have solved the problem of stone for fire starting. Although I couldn't find chert, I did find lots of quartz which really sparks well. Found at Cromwell Park in Baltimore County just walking the trails. Pretty cool to strike the stone and set the char cloth...

      Chert for fire starting

I am very new to bushcraft. I ordered a steel and flint fire starter kit which had steel, jute, char cloth and a piece of questionable flint. It was not very expensive and I don't feel like complaining to vendor. I can't make a spark and the "flint" portion of the stone is almost...

      Backyard Target Shooting

Netting? I remember attending a show at Marriottsville and the DNR had set up an archery range and backstop was netting. It was arranged so that would be hard to have an arrow escape even when you screw up with a recurve or long bow as I have and the arrow takes off at a 30 degree angle from...

      looking for a range tool

Wyoming Sight Drifter The above is a specialty tool I find worthwhile since I shoot a lot of lever guns and single shots with a simple blade sight that needs to be drifted for windage. Costs $35 for the original. About size of ball point pen and works on any dovetail sight...Other is a...

      Winchester 1892 Questions

Please keep 25-20 at least for a good trial. I bought Marlin CL in that caliber and love it. Very accurate. It is fairly easy to reload. You can even reform 32-20 to 25-20 if necessary. If you need to check your head space I can lend you gauges. I will even let you shoot a box of factory ammo...

      High wall rifle

No gap seems to be the one constant with BP. Do you just seat the bullet on the powder with a bit of compression or do you use a wad between bullet and powder. I want to keep this simple for now.

      High wall rifle

I just ordered some BP bullets and picked up can of Goex and book on BP loading. Going to try BP in 38-55. Oh and have plenty of Ballistol to help clean up afterward. Kind of daunting to load it. I am used to smokeless and this is whole new ball game.
