Actually, Elkins schools are some of the best around and we've been happy with them for the most part. We work with my son constantly to make sure he gets an education over and above what they teach. He was number one grade-wise in his class last year for middle school (out of ~ 250 students)...
No, haven't been to the new pizza joint. I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks for the info about the bridge. Hopefully the animals haven't decimated the cranberries yet.
This will be our 1st year with season passes at Timberline since PN took it over. I've been loyal to Canaan with season passes...
Hey Tallen, nice pictures!
My property borders the Roaring Plains and through the RP's we can get to Dolly Sods, although it is quite the hike to get through the Roaring Plains to Dolly Sods wilderness.
Do you know if the bridge over Red Creek is still closed? They were going to put a...
Frontier and Hughsnet are the only options available for me here in SE Randolph county. No cell service at all. Both companies suck, Frontier much more so.
My son's small 3 point buck he took with his bow yesterday after school. His first. Unfortunately we already cut the antlers off when we took the picture.
I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures. I guess if it was a large bragging rights buck I would hopefully remember to take out the phone. I think, at least in the last 5 seasons, I've only remembered to take a picture once and that was after it was already hanging in the garage. :banghead:
Took a 3 point yesterday with a 8.5" 300 B.O. suppressed using 208gr. A-max rounds. It was about a 30 yard shot that took out the heart and both lungs. Dropped him right there. First time using the B.O. rifle for hunting but I'll definitely keep it in my deer hunting repertoire.
Looking at the LIDAR data for the property (not knowing the actual boundaries) there are a couple of nice sinks in that hollow which is indicative of cave formation underground. Monroe county is great karst country and full of caves (Greenbriar Co is the king of caves in WV).
I tried that when I was a poor teenager and left it out till from late fall to mid-summer. I'm assuming it was mice that ate the bone off of the front of the skull along the top jaw. Came out nice otherwise, just shortened.
The cabin on .25 acres is located almost across the street from the Natural Gas Processing plant. Still in a wonderful location with rivers and forest all around.
