My father is looking for a .22 for my mom to shoot. He likes the Mark III but I've heard it's awful to field strip and clean. I've heard good things about the SR22 elsewhere online but wanted your opinions before I recommend something to him.
Obviously my mother will check to make sure it fits her hand and all that.
I didn't want him getting something that is a PITA to clean or is unreliable.
    Thanks.

Love mine. Runs good so far with everything from CCI to the bulk pack Remington.

Picked it up because the small frame fit my girlfriend's hand well.

My only complaint is the magazines. The bullets fit in them rather loosely; every now and then I'll get one which is tilted to one side of the magazine rather far which will result in the gun failing to pick up the next round.

Love it. eats everything including cheap ammo. great with my suppressor including sub somic ammo and still cycles. easy to clean even with blowback design.

I love mine now. Great trainer and fun to shoot.

Picked mine up in 2013 and it had the trigger disconnect problem, but Ruger fixed it in less than a week.

My only regret is not buying it with the threaded barrel.

Really great little pistol. It's just a fun little plinker. I've put a few thousand rounds of cheap crap ammo through mine and never had a FTF or FTE. Can't go wrong there.

Only problem I had was the magazine disconnector. The magazine will rotate a little and the disconnector will slide off, resulting in a trigger reset failure. Removed that crap disconnector myself and flawless ever since. Bonus is the mags drop really free now too!

What is this 'cleaning' you talk about?

SR22 works great. Not a big fan of the DA trigger pull.

    Love mine.

A few thousand rounds later, and still no issues. Like others have said, eats just about anything. Also makes a good suppressor host!

Great little shooter. Have 3 between the gf and I and love them. Only issue was a cracked breach block pin and the was after 15k rounds or so and ruger fixed it with no issues. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Stripping the mk really isn't all that hard. Once you understand the hammer tang fits inside the indented cup on the mainspring housing, everything falls into place.
