    Well, the nail polish do the trick, just like I had needed. The white nail polish worked on the darkened targets and even against them when I painted then orange again, although they don't stay orange for long.

    Long term going to trim back the thick woods a little, but many of the trees are old hardwood I don't particularly want to take down if I don't have to. Maybe start work the softwoods and see how that goes this fall.

    At least with the cheap ones , most orange nail polish is pretty thin when applied . Fire engine red is thicker and more robust .

    This will not help your situation but may help others with theirs.
    I use a home made "eye pal" most the time.
    Small hole punch on a roll of electrical tape. Creates a diopter and increases depth of focus.
    You however need good sunlight as it reduces the light hitting your eyes.
