The first 40+ years of my life were spent in Maryland. Up until I was 8 we lived in Carney. We then moved to Harford County (just north of Jarrettsville). After I got married I moved to Churchville. I spent 20 years there raising my children and being part of the community (my wife was a member of the volunteer fire company for many years). With all these deep connections it was hard but I could no longer stand by and watch the basic freedoms afforded us by our creator and the Constitution disappear. We purchased a home in York County last year and will never move back. After one short year I have gotten to the point where I hate the thought of having to drive back into Maryland (I work in Baltimore so I have to do it everyday). I carry every day when I am in my home state. It really stands out when I have to come into Maryland that the basic right to defend myself (and my family if they are with me) is non-existent once I cross that imaginary line on 83. Me, my tax dollars and the future contributions of my children will not be available to Maryland. It's a sad thing for a state that has the nerve to call itself "The Free State"

My wife and I were looking at a house about two weeks ago up in York County. The neighbor wandered over to say hi...we mentioned that we were trying to escape from Maryland and he said, "yeah, most people around here did that".

The way I look at it, this is one of the things that is still good about this country, as long as states' rights remain states' rights. If you don't like it in one place, you can move to another. Vote with your feet...the loss of tax revenue is the only thing politicians understand. You can't squeeze money from the welfare population.

You can only run so long. All the scandals going on right now and Rasmussen has Obama at 49% today, up from 47 last week.

Yep, but why not spend at least some portion of ones life 'free'. I agree the cancer is going to spread to other states, but hopefully Rblakely and the other state residences can stave off the tide long enough..

I was an active voter and reached out to many politicians while I was in Maryland, ultimately to no avail. I have already become involved in PA by attending multiple rallies and speaking with my representative. This is the line, no farther, and then we start pushing the line back to where it belongs....to what was written in the Constitution.
