question to the group,
I came across an opportunity to help out friends of a co worker, I bought all of there guns..
I have a few .22's some in need of repair, or restoration..
would you , restore them ( sand down the stock / refinish, re-blue )
or just dis-assemble, clean, and get in good shooting order,
I have
Marlin model 80
Savage model 3
Sears ( automatic )
Western Auto lever action
I think I have to wait until I get 50 posts though to post pics
Last nights Score.. the barrel isnt perfect it had a good amount of oxidation on it but i got most off. I can live with where its at now.
Mossberg 144LSA W/Mossberg 331 Peep and lyman 17A front sight.
First pic is the rust i removed within 5 mins of being home
Looks great! We'll have to have a shoot-off with my 44US next time at the range.
Casey, how are those .22's coming??
Took the ole SEARS out to the farm this weekend, went through a few round, then it stopped feeding from the tube mag. took it apart at the " range we built" I think the follow spring is tired, or weak.. I cant remember how much spring rate it had by feel when I rebuilt it, but it does seem a bit ..weak..
It shot true the first 30 rounds..
The Marlin is gonna get a full strip, and reblue.. I just don't have a good space to reblue properly .. I did locate a peep site for it though ( already blue ) so I gotta get it close to matching.
Now I have to get ANOTHER stock..., have the same one as ducrider45.

nice group
Thank you.
The first 2 strings were vertical, but under 3/4" - I was playing around with the tensioning block and that 3rd string pretty much told me to stop what I was doing and quit while I was ahead.
Yeah id say you got it dialed man.
There is something new and different about my Ruger American Rimfire.[/IMG] I cant wait to get this to the range.
