I was looking at either a green mtn 20" fluted stainless steel bull barrel which is $200. I also saw a volquartsen barrel same thing for like $400. I'm planning on tack driving when I'm done with all of my upgrades on my 10/22 and I was just wondering is does that $200 make a difference. A $400 barrel is kinda out of my price range but if it will make so I shoot 100 shots and only be one hole where the other won't that's fine. Opinions?

But I would skip the flutes for this one:

If you don't already have a quality trigger you might consider:

But I would call them for a combo price because the barrels are on sale right now, and the fluted is available in the combo. Also with any of the quality barrels you are considering I would plan on buying ammo comparable in quality to the barrel to get the best result. In other words if you have a maximum accuracy result in mind for your new set up it may look something like this:

10/22 cut back and chambered- CCI Blazer, CCI SV

Whistle Pig, GM, ect- Wolf MT class ammo

VQ, Kidd- Cen X, Team, EPS

Usually the better the barrel, the more chance the better more expensive ammo is going to give a more consistent, precise result.
