GAP makes a nice AR-10.I don't think it's a preference, though. I think it's a necessity if you shoot enough. Keep in mind that my context is shooting steel at 1000+, though.

I agree, however, I have a pretty good optic on mine (>$1k new). I can see hits out to about 800 yards on a good day before the sun gets too high. My gun doesn't shoot well enough to shoot it past 800 yards, so any money spent on an optic to see hits past 800 yards is wasted on me/my gun. I suspect most 10's are the same way, with few exceptions.I don't think it's a preference, though. I think it's a necessity if you shoot enough.
OK?I am in the same Decision. I built a AR 10
Trying to choose what scope I am not a fan of VORTEX or ARKEN and PRIMARY ARMS
I am a Leupold Ziess Swarovski Khales
Last but not least. Nightforce. I have several of each. Looking at maybe. 3-10. 3.5 -15
4.5 - 12 power.
Is dropping a pound off the scope going to make it that much better. The PST Gen2 weighs 31.2oz. What would you get with that capability in a much lighter setup? Maybe drop 1lbs off your barrel. What else do you have on your rig? What rings or mount are you using? The rifle starts at 10lb empty with no accessories. Bipod etc?A Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50mm on a repr with 20 in. heavy barrel works great but the whole set weighs a "ton". I'm considering a smaller scope to make it more portable. A 6x acog was a bad choice entirely.
