It's cold and it's windy, but I've got the time and the reloads to test out. There's nothing ideal about shooting today other than it might be the only time I have for the next week or so. Honestly I don't think I will enjoy my decision either way.

    Do it.

I shot yesterday during a brief snow storm, 15 to 25 gusts. Don't regret it at all.

Normally I'd a day like today to reload or do brass prep., but until I proof some loads I really have loaded about as many as I can.

I think wind would put me off more than temp alone.

The club over here is less than 10 minutes away and I would most likely be the only guy there for an hour or more, so that also makes it easier for me to justify going.

How often are you available to go other times? That would factor with me as well.

Go for it. If it gets too cold, leave. The only caveat would be if your wanting to check for accuracy. Some powders do shoot differently at colder temps, not to mention you may get different point of impact between a cold and warm barrel.

I hope I've confused you to the best of my ability.

Draw a map of where your pecker is currently located so you can find it if you need to take a leak in this weather.

    Have fun.

Check the wind chill then ask yourself "Do I have my winter trigger installed?" unless it is an indoor range.

I'm on fox/coyote overwatch we we speak. It's beautiful out here!
    Good luck!

This is something that really interests me. I've been checking out a lot of videos on YouTube lately. I thought I had an opportunity to take care of a few coyotes at a local farm. Turns out I was too late and they had already been dispatched.

Russ, I hope you went shooting.

Today was a good day for me, so it may have been a good day for you as well.

One thing about the weather is you won't feel crowded. I was at a local range yesterday at noon and I was the only one there. No one came while my buddy and I shot but with the chill factor we didn't shoot nearly as long as usual.

Looks like a button on a fur coat. :)

I think I'm going to start hitting the range regardless of weather. I'll use the truck as a warming hut as long as I can stand it.

I went last week in the cold after I re-upped my AGC range badge.

Warm torso, legs, feet, head, and of course hands. Hands are the first to go. Hand warmers help, but aren't perfect by any means.

Shot 40 some rounds out of my AK 74 then called it quits.
