Another addition to the MD community. A second sniper in my collection. ME & TE are zeros with a beautiful stock. The Z prefix make it the rarer of the sniper series. I could be overstating the piece but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just a bit excited of my new find.

Got it at Reddding's auction last week. I walked in looking for a luger and I ended out with a better price. I took it out today and at 100 yds I need it to aim at least 3 1/2 feet below the target to get it on black. The grouping were nice and consistant.

If you had the elevation all the way down you need to put shims under the front of the scope base,001 equals roughly 1" @ 100 yards. looks like you need to start with .040. pretty common with military receivers and one piece scope mounts.
I had to do the same with my Springfield custom only I used Burris rings with the inserts.
From what I have read, the military armorers had scope base shims to use to sight in the rifle, looks like yours was built and never sighted in or was sighted in for long range, roughly 80 to 90 inch drop at 600 yards from 100 yard zero.
You can rezero the elevation knob, here is a brief description, more info should be out there.
