I have a 1903 RIA New Zealand marked rifle. The NZ markings are on left side of stock as opposed to being on the right side like all the Remington ones I have seen. RLB marked finger groove stock with high hump hand guard. It has the Remington’03 bolt as well. Barrel is marked 7-18 which matches the serial # on the receiver. The bore is mint. The metal is a blackish parkerized finish. All screws are unturned. I have only seen one other like this in the past. Condition is excellent plus. Any more information on these would be greatly appreciated. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how. Thank you.

That's a really cool piece of 1903 history you have. Beautiful condition. I also have a July 1918 Rock Island but mine took a different path.

In one of my reference books I read that the NZ 1903s came from the USMC. The USMC was still using them early in the war in the South Pacific and when they went to NZ for R&R they were issued Garands and the 03s stayed in NZ and were turned over to the NZ home defense forces. I wish I could remember which book that was in.
