20 home defense

So my son wants to buy his vertically challenged T. rex armed fiancé a 20ga semiautomatic shotgun for home defense.

Suggestions? He sent me this as his first selection.

I know it’s off-topic, but a proper AR is head and shoulders above a 20g for home defense, IMO.

That's what I was thinking. Cheaper to feed, much less recoil, probably more reliable, etc.

Consider also that an AR15 has a very adjustable (short) stock.

If you're stuck with the shotgun choice, I'd go with a Remington 1187 Compact.

Sweet little gun with a fairly mild recoil.

If she’s worth(y) buying a gun for, then it ought to be a good one.
concur with AR recommendations
if a shotty is the only choice, then Remington compact 20 is a great one

What does she want?

If she doesn't like it and doesn't train with it, then a revolver is a better choice.

20ga for HD is fine.

I'm a semi-auto shotgun snob. I may be 100% wrong, but I don't think I'd trust my life to a semi-auto shotgun that isn't Beretta or Benelli.

I bought my son a 20ga. Mossberg youth shotgun when he was 12 or 13 and it seems like it would be perfect for an adult who is...um...youth in stature.
