.223 Brass - I just have to ask.

Well I got some more details from my buddy about the Winchester bullets he bought. Looks like I will be tackling a 55 grain FMJ with 3.2 grains of Hodgdon Clays powder. Anything I should know before I buy a die set and bullets ?

Next question is, does anyone cast a GC bullet for .223 ? I'm not casting / reloading stupid, but, I'm currently .223 stupid.

If I remember correctly, that load will never go above like 1100fps which is subsonic. Is that what you are shooting for? Because normal rounds are moving at 2800-3100fps.

I'm still looking for a few more .223 brass. I got two boxes and put in what I have and I came up about 40 short to make a full 100 to start reloading. I don't need 1000 I only want a few hundred.

If you're willing to make the trip, I've pulled much brass from the NRA Range buckets when the RO's weren't looking. I don't think they care that I grab some, but I still feel guilty taking more than I shot.

www.southerncastbullets.com is now selling cleaned one time used brass in addition to cast bullets. Many calibers including .223. They will be at the Gettysburg show this weekend.
