Any experience? My friend's dad has one and my friend and I have been searching for ammo, no luck. What say you, learned masses *searches in vain for the keys to put an accent over the e*

Wow I didn’t think the .250 Savage would go to a obsolete cartridge but it is headed that way.

www.ammunitiontogo.com has some Winchester listed http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/index.php/cName/rifle-ammo-250-savage

Then there are the obsolete cartridge specialists:

    http://cpcartridge.com/cart2/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_28

    http://www.ows-ammo.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/572

Gunbroker has some listed but if he is going to keep using the rifle I would start looking for someone to reload for it.

I suspect the situation is due to current overall ammo short supply, and "when" the high volume cals are cought up, the rest of the product line will fill back in.
In general the .250 Savage is similar to the later .243 with heavier bullets, albiet with larger dia bullet.

Forgot to say that I used a 250-3000 as my 1st deer rifle. I used cartridges my dad had when he was young. I never remember buying any.

Thanks guys I'd be willing to buy some brass. I have dealt with reeds on EAQAC parts to notch establishment.

For my low use odd caliber guns I rarely seek factory ammo as I can have it loaded much better

If it comes to that , just neck back up .22-250 brass.

Ill find some, and they keep running it. Picked up some at Chantilly for $20/box loaded Remington ammo. Which I didnt think was bad, infact I bought 8 which should keep me busy for a while.

I did also with a Savage model 1920. After I shoot the buck I said to my Uncle "I did not feel the recoil"

To which my uncle replied " Noboby does"
