30 and 357 Herrett here 10" bull barrels both have Leupold EER Scopes on them. Do you plan on making the cases from 30-30 cases? For the 30 Herrett, if you make them from 30-30 case you will need forming dies and a inside neck reamer, then fire form them, it may sound like alot of work, but not really. The 357 Herrett is harder because you have to form the cases and adjust the dies so that the action just snaps closed. What loads are you looking for, I use several ranging from 110gr-155gr. I will post some of the loads later on. Sorry for all the questions. If you want something to just shoot all day then you would something on the light side. I used to shoot mine at the Linganore Range years ago, 50-75 yrds
Here is loading data that I use from a 10" bull barrel Contender
The loads are made using new 30-30 brass winchester and remington
formed, trimmed, inside neck reamed. I have about 200 cases already
made.
For fireforming I use H-4227 17.8 grs Sierra 110gr hollow point CCI-200 primers
Once fireformed:
All primers CCI-200 All Powder H-4227
Speer 110gr varminter H.P 24.0grs
Sierra 110gr Hollow Point 23.5grs. very accurate at 50yds.
Hornady 150gr FMJBT 20.0grs.
I have others and will post more data. Give me some kind of Idea
what bullet weight you will be interested in and what kind of shooting
you will be doing.Rock

You do not need a lot of special loading dies for the 30 or the 357 herrett.
You can get away with a normal loading die set and a trim die.
Take virgin 30-30 brass and run it in the trim die (well lubed) and cut what is sticking out above the die and file it flat. This will give you a basic case. then run it in the FL die and then maybe trim it back a little.
You have a case ready for fire forming. It is best to use a heavy load to fire fore the cases. most of the time fire forming loads are as good as any other load.
The herrett cases head space on the shoulder not the rim. when you adjust the FL die set it so that it requires a little snap to close the T/C.
When you loader the fire formed cases be careful not to set the shoulder back .
I always inside neck reamed because when I was forming cases for winchester brass the case necks were thicker and would not properly fit in the chamber. Whether you do or not it's up to to barrel you have.
With H4227 you should be good to go.
Some loads for the 110grs bullets 23.5-24.0grs of H-4227 works good in the barrel that I have, 8" pie plate @ 100yrds no problem. Hornady shows 25.9grs H4227 as max for 110gr bullets and 24.0gr max for 130gr. win296 24.3gr max for 110 and 21.4 max for 130gr bullets Haven't used W296 as H4227 cheaper and could get it in 8lb. Kegs at the time.Work up your loads, the ones I use are warm, with no signs of high pressures.Fun to shoot and won't "rock" "shake" the world around you, when you light one off. The 357mag loads which are loaded with WW630 (discontinued) 90gr HP and 110 HP bullets will make people take notice. They are not "hot", warm maybe, they are very accurate, it's just the bark.
