    I have a CMMG upper

The issues I have had IMO are gas related with the gas block not sealing up and preventing the bolt from going back all the way. As well mine has a severe fouling problem that after 10 shots the entire bolt and inside the carrier and the upper around the lugs is totally nasty and fouled up. The only gun I have ever used the forward assist on it was that bad.

The CMMG and C-products defense/Duramags are the same, same for the Ruger branded ones.

i have a bear creek upper only put 20 downrange but overall pretty happy with the economical purchase. as mentioned above i had feed issues with the mag. i have an ar stoner 5-rd that would not feed the 2nd round. after some tinkering it seemed to be a lip issue. was able to run one mag at the end of shooting.

Glad I found this thread , as I was looking into a cmmg upper the put on an existing lower. Seems like this round puts a lot of close to mid range power in a small package without having to go the ar-10 route.

Also seems like this round and it’s parts have issue city with feeding and ammo related issues according to a lot of users.

    Oof

Haven’t shot mine yet. Knew going into it that i was gonna have a project on my hands. Just doing the manual test with CMMG mags it will only feed every other round Correctly. Gonna drop it off to engage for a small polish job or contact the company and see if i can get them to polish.

I am manually feeding 150 grn Winchester deer ammo. I’m not gonna try other ammo cuz i don’t give a F. This is the ammo I’m going to hunt with so this is the ammo i need it to reliably feed.

I believe part of the issue with mags is that if you’re trying to use Pmags for the 5.56 there is a built up area or ridge inside the mag on both sides that need to be relieved. Works fine for a couple rounds then start having feeding issues. 350 specific mags do not have that ridge. Early on I think there were some issues with Winchester ammo not head spacing properly, but that was a year or more ago. They should have resolved that by now.

Many people experienced this with 300 blk
I have not and don’t worry about what mag I pick up.

Facebook posts show some manufacturers wiping out the bottom locking lug making a huge ramp at the bottom. One pick made it almost a 5 out of 8 lug barrel, cause 2 of them were almost wiped out

I bought some dummy rounds off Amazon since i couldn’t find any “snap caps” it feeds them like a dream. Haven’t been able to get to a range but i think my 150grn may have been a bad purchase. Gonna grab some 165s HP and see how she feeds. I still am gonna make these 150s work one way or another.

Lol so much for my plan

Stanton, see if this info helps.

I watched that. I’m using different ammo. Im gonna be using the 150. Has much more of a point. The fix seems to be to polish a few parts but I’m trying to fix it without a polish. I did note the issues in there but i also am not that far along as I’ve only cycled and have not had a chance to get to a range. Probably won’t until Late March but working through minor stuff now.

After Chadding my BCG she cycles the 150 just fine but she does not like when the BCG is dropped via pressing the bolt catch. She only likes it to be manually charged. Now to get her on a range and see if she will cycle as intended

I have a Bear Creek upper that I used during firearms season. After breaking it in with 50 or so rounds, it hasn't had any feeding issues. Less than 1" groups at 100 and golfball size groups at 200. Nice upper for the money!
