Looking at picking up a 350 legend. Will be used for shots up to 200ish yards. Which length barrel would be best? 18, 20 or 22"? I'm thinking the longer the barrel the better, but wanted some others opinions.

I have seen a couple yt videos, the barrel length does not have a huge impact. I have a 20". A lot of ppl are killing deer with 16".

The important thing is the feed ramps. If you plan to run an AR, make sure that the feed ramps are extra wide and ideally the upper does not have M4 cuts.

I plan on getting a bolt action gun, not sure how much that matters.

I would lean towards 18 or 20 threaded.
Depending on whose article your reading your losing from 25 to 45 fps per inch of barrel. So I’d go with what’s comfortable to drag around the woods.

all depends on if you are shooting factory loads or handloading , you can work up " killer " loads for your longer barrels . ( pun intended ) .

With such an efficient ( in terms of expansion ratio) ctg , the velocity differences within 18- 22 inches will be of no importance . Go with what you prefer the balance of the specific rifle .

Will be shooting factory loads and I don't have the knowledge nor tools to load my own. I mainly hunt my own property of farm land so will be open fields with little woods. I'd like to pick up a straight wall just to have because ya just never know what the gun laws will be in a handful of years.

take a look at the 350 Legend ammo thread. We're shooting 16" Ruger American Ranch bolt actions, 1" groups @100, killing deer out to 200 plus, haven't had a desire for anything else.

Just bought a Ruger Ranch 16" last week. Shoots 1"groups at 100 yards with Hornady 170gr. Have yet to shoot a deer with it, hopefully tomorrow.
I do love the compactness of the 16" barrel.

I bought a Henry Single shot in 350 Legend. The fit and finish on the Henry is amazing. It has a 22 inch barrel and it grouped at 3/4-1 inch with 170 grain Hornandy whitetail ammo. That was all I could find at the time. I have since located Winchester 180 grain, and the Winchester Deer season XP in 150 Grain. I'm anxious to get back to the range.
