7 Day Wait question

Can anybody verify if the 7 day wait is actually 7 business days or calender days? Ex: Fri- Fri, or Fri-following Mon if paperwork is back.

It's calendar days.

Thanks, thats what I thought but was told by local FFL it is business days, not counting holidays and weekends. maybe thats how they do it.

If you want your firearm on time (legally) look at any of the IPs. They're pretty good about customer service.

This is directly from the MSP paperwork:

"You may transfer the regulated firearm/s listed on the application to the transferee (purchaser) after seven days have elapsed from the date that is listed in the "Date Form Forwarded" field in Section 3 of Part 2 of the application. If the seventh day of the seven-day waiting period falls on a Sunday or legal holiday, the regulated firearm/s may not be transferred until the first day next following, which is neither a Sunday nor a legal holiday"

Doesn't the "not on Sunday" bit seem to violate the separation of Church and State? If the paperwork is back in the hands of the FFL who cares if they transfer it on a Sunday or Monday? January 1 or 2??

Its 7 days - and you can pick up the firearm on the 8th day, if your background check comes in clear.

its really up to the shop when they want to give you the firearm.

All FFLs that I have dealt with will not do the transfer until they get the "Not Declined" paperwork. At best it will be 7 days.

When I bought mine back in April it ended up being 7 business or 10 TOTAL days.
