Thinking of getting a Springfield Loaded 9mm 1911. I see ammo thats 9 mm and 9mm Luger for sale. Are these the same ammo? Are they interchangable?
If different, anyone know which this gun takes? Thanks
9x19mm = 9mm Parabellum = 9mm Luger
.380acp = 9mm Short = 9mm KurzNot to be used interchangeably with the above

I have personally witnessed someone shoot 9mm Mak thru a 9mm handgun, it worked that one time, but I wouldn't suggest anyone else try it.
Crazy Al has earned his name.
Don't for get about 9 mm Largo - is Not 9 mm Luger. You think they could have come up better differentiation of naming the calibers.
Ugh, if only. 9x23 can mean any number of very different cartridges:9mm Largo = 9 x 23
Think about the various .38 caliber names we have.
What about .45 Colt, .45ACP, .45 GAP, .45 Win Magnum?
9mm Parabellum
9mm Luger
9x19mm
And so many more synonyms.
All one and the same.
Actually that 9mm Largo is 9x21, or at least one of them. And at least 3 or 4 variations of 9x23 , mainly differing in details of rim and extractor groove.
And 9x25.
And 9mm SuperMag
And 9mm Mars
And don't forget the 9mm Mauser is dimentionally identical to 9mm Luger , but different pressure spec.
And of course 9mm Federal aka 9mm rimmed
Probably forgetting several, and that's not counting the rifle rounds.
Edit to add 9mmActionExpress aka 9mmAE.
Leave it up to Bigfoot44 to set the rookies straight.
Aaahhhhh...............but ya' fergot one, ya' ready, drum roll please....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

And here I thought you were going to give the OP a hard time for wanting a 1911 in 9mm...
But seriously - why a 1911 in the 9mm caliber? Why not the orginal 45ACP ?
Im not knocking the 9mm round - but the advantage of those is high capacity since its a small round. Your not going to get it with a 1911 platform
