I had made a commitment to buy 2 H&K rifles. A Model 270 (.22lr) and a Model 300 (.22 WMR). I was very excited about these. I went to pick them up this weekend. I’ll post pics of them in a couple of days. The 270 has bad pitting on the receiver. I’m sanding it down and will reblue it. I will need to clean up the 300. It’s in nice shape.

Anyway, his inventory was extensive. We found the 270 quickly, and had trouble finding the 300. He checked the computer to make sure he didn’t accidentally sell it. Nope. He had 3 H&K rifles in inventory. A 630! I felt something stir and off we went to check more. I’m REALLY excited about this one. It’s beautiful. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one in person, so thought I’d share. It’s the same internals as an SL6. Chambered in .223. It has a nifty QD scope mount. The safety is a little switch on the side of the rifle. The integrated brake is slick. It has a non-reciprocating, folding charging handle. The bolt release is a little switch behind the charging handle. Comes with a flush fit 3 round magazine. It’s not been fired much. I’ll load up some light .223 soon. Very solid little rifle.

    noice!

roller delayed HK goodness in 556.

    very rare to see these.

I finally figured out how to get the bolt assembly out! Here are a few pics. There were guns in this collection that had a lot of rust. I wanted to make sure there was nothing hidden on this one. I’m happy to say, it’s very clean. Will oil and reassemble tomorrow. Leaving bore cleaner in overnight. Shot very little, but may as well clean it good.
