John I may be interested in doing this. Could you tell me what the typical target ranges are? Also I don't have a holster for my .22 pistol. Can you start a pistol stage from the low ready or is a holster required?

The distance isn't a factor, it's about speed. No holster required.

Thanks, I guess I was just trying to determine if it was like a mars match where some of the targets are 15-20 yds away and others are 100 yds away. I've got a 2x10 scope on my .22 rifle zeroed at 25yds, so if I need to adjust that or put a RDS or 1x4 scope on there, I'd like to plan that ahead of time.

Distance will vary but 20 yards should be about the max. Use a sight that will allow you to get on target quick...I use open sights

Holsters aren't required as you take and replace your gun to a stand each time you fire. The distances are from 21 feet to 45 feet. You stand facing the steel and shoot away.

The ranges are very short....as John said about 7 yds for pistol to about 15 yds for rifle. Most folks use a red-dot sight on both rifle and pistol to allow quick target acquisition.

This is a really fun match. I started doing it earlier this summer and now look forward to it each month.

I've been to a few... the event is fun and the people are friendly. I was looking to join the club, this event was recommended.
