What gun are you trying to improve?

Why not just try epoxy and silicon carbide powder?

The sandpaper ones are nice for firearms you would use at the range. They really help maintain your grip during a long shooting session when your hands can sweat and the grip can get slippery. The rubber grips are good for what you intend to carry, to prevent the 'sandpaper' from rubbing against you. I like them both.

I was considering using some epoxy to throw some grit onto. But I decide to try a custom design from stock talon matl. Haven’t done it yet. The project is a grip frame. But if it’s an AR handle those are easy to swap if you don’t like it.

Anyone have experience with Talon, Handleit or another brand of "stick on" grip? Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance
I am not sure what is on my G21 as its an ex-LEO gun with grip tape (looks sort of like Talon, but without any logo) but I put Talons on my G19 and G17. I like them a lot.

Sanded for anything I am just using at the range, or I'd be using in an OWB holster. IWB gets the rubberized treatment for sure.

I put Talon rubberized grips on my Springfield XD 9. Went on easy, lined up perfect, and definitely enhanced the pistol.

I have the Talon $24.99 Pro texture grips on my Hellcats

TALON Grips PRO grip material combines the best characteristics of the granulate and rubber textures. The surface of the grip is made of ground-up rubber and provides an aggressive grip without being abrasive. The PRO texture is comfortable enough for most people to carry against the skin and aggressive enough for competition.

Bicycle intertube has always worked for me on my G17, G22 and G21SF.

Grip Tape for bats and rackets works pretty good and is a lot cheaper plus you can customize your thickness compared to the gun grip panels

Seems like it was just the Summer of 1994 and the G22 and extra mags was my panic buy before Bubba signed the AWB in September. I wanted it for IPSC matches and my side gig selling compensated barrels.

Bubba signed it a week before my 32nd Birthday, that sick sonnuvabitch.

You can also do both, using rubber on the side of the gun that sits against you, sandpaper on the off side

I like textured rubberized grips I have on 2 pistols. I think they were Traction grips. One small issue I noticed was they shrink a little after a few years and a seam will open a little.

I think that's a fair assessment. I didn't like the rubber ones for the range, so I made the switch to sandpaper. The sandpaper definitely rubs on my flesh more than I'd like, but it's not a deal breaker, and the benefit gained over rubber Talon grips compared to the minor inconvenience endured keeps the sandpaper grip on my carry piece

To each his own, of course. It's just my experience.

Just yesterday I put some hockey stick grip tape on the back of a grip (plastic gun) and it is holding up very well. More experimenting to come.

So I saw this and thought it'd be worth the $15 to make my buddies laugh at the range. My grip looks like a damn disco ball. Pics don't do it justice. It's the sandpaper texture from "Handleit" grips. I prefer the more rubbery texture for sure, but they didn't have that with sparkles. Funny stuff.
