Been looking at all the threads on this forum sub topic and it looks like Crosman/Benjamin or Gamo dominate most of the conversations. I'm wondering how long most have been into air guns and whether or not you visit other forums and if you do which ones. I was an original member of Tom Gaylords Air Gun Letter Forum and the original Yellow Forum now (Air Gun Warriors) I believe, and have poked my nose into various other's, including Brad Troyer's American Air Gun Classified. I'll start off with one of mine that I consider to be a classic Air Gun. More to come !

I have an anschutz that needs the seals and damper redone I think. It's also missing the sights. It was given to me by a friend and I'm not sure how old it is.

*****I have a few. Below is one I keep out of the safe. It is a Venom tuned and prepped West German Weihrauch .22 cal spring piston "Hunting" air rifle. It is remarkably accurate, and for what it is - very powerful. It has the adjustable 2 stage match trigger and a decent scope designed for air rifles with decent glass. Some folks hunt small game with these in Europe (Rabbit, Squirrel, etc..). It is remarkably robust and well made - German engineering.

I also have some Beeman rifles, mostly the older R1 Super Magnums - with match triggers and the "Rekord" match peep sights.

Wow those are some pricey sights. I think I need to strip it down and replace the seals and make sure it works before I think about getting anything like that. I don't have a place to work on it right now so it has to wait

****Yes. Those are the sights higher end air rifles come with. My Beeman rifles with the peep sights have those. Remarkable craftsmanship, and precision design as air rifles are more accurate than just about any firearm at their intended range of use. The groups are basically one hole, and all of this quality of rifle comes with test targets from a benchrest showing accuracy potential.

Those sights are not even the more expensive ones, and are good for hunting as they are quite rugged. The true precision match sights are remarkably precise and have incredible adjustments to within several millimeters at their intended distance of use/competition. They have fine watch precision clicks, etc... It's kind of like optics at the higher levels of precision shooting - the optics sometimes cost a LOT more than the rifle or firearm itself.

Unless you know what you are doing, a fine rifle like that should have its seals replaced as well as its internals checked by a pro. Easy to damage the precision surfaces internally unless you have the specialized tools, etc...

Years ago I helped a lady liquidate her husband's estate. Long story short, she thought it was basically a toy and wanted to give it to me or throw it away.
It was in excellent plus condition, box, hang tags, cleaning kit, extra set of new seals, pellets. It was hard to get an accurate value for something like this. Judging by the checkered walnut grips and medallion, I think it was around 1934 if my memory serves me correct.
I sold it for her at the MD Antique Arms Collectors Show in Timonium, Friday evening before the show opened, $500 and gave her the money.
You never know what you'll find at that show. The show is March 18-19 this year.

I only have one, but I guess its a classic.
Nowhere near as much so as the "Webly Premier" I grew up with, but carried just like that, in a Brit web holster, as a rodent deterrent when legal & appropriate.

Yeah, I have some schematics saved and I also found some videos of the work being done on the same model rifle. When I can get to it I'll revisit all that and anything else I can find and decide if it's something I can tackle. I'm pretty handy usually but I'll have to see if there is anything special required. And also if I can find parts. I was talking to a guy from England who sold air rifle parts and had most of it available but it's been a few years so who knows now.

Let me know if you need any help ... I've had some experience in fixing and tuning air guns ... I know I can find the parts for you ! Just need to know what parts.

I just saw this now, sorry it took a while for the penny to drop.
    this is in .177!
The "Tempest" & "Hurricane" were very similar, but not identical. One was simply a chopped no frame or barrel extension version of the other.

Here is prob the rarest I have: Model A Sheridan Supergrade.

It has been taken apart for new seals. I made a castellated tool to get the valve apart but its been sitting for a long time waiting for attention. Seals will be easy to make. The bigger hangup was how to restore the black on the brass (copper plate?) tube/barrel. The original process is something no longer available (I don't remember what it was called off the top of my head.) Its basically a thin shiny black paint. I've thought about using something like Birchwood Casey brass black or even gloss black cerakote. The cerakote is probably more true to the original but I REALLY don't want to have to take the tubes out of the receiver to be able to prep and spray it. I had decided whatever I do would require doing in place w/ a lot of careful masking.
