AK Stock Too dark

Any ideas? I am in the process of refinishing my Romy kit, and the stock is way darker than the rest of the furniture.

Try adding some blue duct tape.

Seriously, they mismatched the furniture pieces. If it were mine I'd replace all the furniture, but you might be able to darken the other pieces to (almost) match.

strip the old finish

cook all the cosmo out

scrub it with oxyclean

let it dry

sand it smooth

I have had stocks ligthen up when I boil them, about 7 seconds per side.

I've heard you need to soak it in a bucket of water with a cp of bleach added for an hour or so, after you've stripped it.

This scares me since it is a laminated stock. Water is never good for plywood.
