Need to go on a business trip and looking at the map on USCCA, looks like we're good through VA, NC, and SC. Am I right?

This map from handgunlaw.us shows all the states that honor your Maryland permit. Notice Michigan and South Carolina only honor resident permits. They'll honor my Maryland permit, but not my Utah non-resident permit.

How is someone supposed to know when traveling through another state that they don’t have their own version of our Montgomery county? Places like Philadelphia have carry restrictions but it’s not like they post a sign on the interstate exit telling you that.
