    AMD-65 With or Witihout Foregrip?

The AMD-65 is really growing on me. At first I thought it was pretty fugly with the foregrip but then I thought just take the damn thing off. What do you think?? See pic

After only a few 20-round mags, that lower metal guard gets hot to touch. I hope you don't plan on shooting it for long without a forward grip.

As long as you don't touch that lower guard. My hand touched that metal guard and I had some nice burn marks on the skin between my thumb and finger. I would suggest if you are going to remove the forward grip that you install a lower wooden forearm from a Polish Tantel or other folding varient AK. It would look something like this.

That it does. I had one for a while (damn I miss that thing) and it got hot enough to melt duct tape.

if you grab the mag with the support hand it should be OK?

Hmm...I don't really know. But do you really want to go through all that?

Want to see beautiful?!?!? Take a look at this one, though I don't think it started out as an AMD-65, it does use the lower metal guard from one. These are Thompson SMG wooden grips.

Here is another two. I don't know if I would do this to my AMD, but I think they are unique nevertheless. These both came from http://www.amd65tech.com

Yeah, I thought I could shoot the AMD-65 without the forward grip. Boy was I wrong. By 1/2 a mag, I was reaching for the screwdriver to make things right again.

I think the mag/magwell grip is more popular in Europe than here. It definitely changes the dynamics of the gun, and not always in a bad way.

    Back in MD sadly
I voted for the grip. Not only for the reasons mentioned above but if you don't like it at least you can say you tried it and swap them out for a different handguard like the ones shown above.
