i have one of their no f/a, no port door uppers coming sometime soon. ups claims delivery should happen tomorrow, which as we all know means i'll have door tags left while i'm ducking home (i got yelled at for naughty language so i'm using non-naughty words that you all understand) without a doorbell ring or a knock for a week, with them claiming they can't hold it for pickup because it's already back out on the truck.

but yeah, i should have it soonish.

lightweight build. going for under 6. shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I did my first AR build on an Anderson lower. The. Cmmg lower parts kit and upper fit perfectly with with no wobbles.

Upper is a cerro forge (keyhole mark). Wouldn't surprise me if the lowers also come from cerro.

    Which means they're GTG.

Describe what you mean by "compare" to Spike's. Because really the only difference is the Anderson doesn't have dueling penises for a logo, and costs half as much.

Consensus is that most of the forged lowers are made by the same company then stamped with company's names. IIRC PSA, Spikes, Anderson, and Seekins along with a few more are all made by the same company. Someone correct me if I am off base.

Sort of right, sort of wrong.

Well to use your words: "Sort of right, sort of wrong." ;)

Cerro is a forge that makes the forging. So the outer dimensions and material peoperties are just as good in one as the other. But you still have to machine all the insides out. Anderson has a bunch of CNC machines so likely do their own. Places like Aero Precision machine lowers for other companies (IIRC they are a large machining business w/ firearms boing only a small part of their operations.)

W/ machining it there are still quality checks involved. How often to they replace worn tooling, how good are the fixtures, QC checks, etc. So just because a lower has a cerro stamp doesn't mean its similar quality as a another companies w/ the same stamp.
