Nice to meet you also .

In fairness to the promoter , this was a test run at a brand new venue to gauge how it would work out , and seemed to be a sucuess . As noted above , it was a high % of actual guns and direct gun stuff , and no tube socks or candy .

There were picnic tables behind the building , but weather didn't cooperate yesterday .

And , I was unimpressed with AA Fairgrounds , as a Fairground . Only two small exhibit buildings , uphill from the big enough for the gun sjow , but too small for any big event parking area couple hundred yards away , miniscule vendor parking . No perment snack bar building .

Plenty of way smaller rural counties have much better fairgrounds .
Even though it is called AA County Fairgrounds, it is a privately owned business and the county has nothing to do with it.

I have never been to any gun show where you can carry a loaded firearm, I have been to them across the United States, If a veteran or anyone wants to sell items that you do not agree with don't look or buy them. Keep your one sided views to your self, you sound like a real winner anyway.
then don't go to the one at Bel air armory. No signs no one checking walked the whole thing with my carry on my side loaded

I wasn't offended by the items. I was offended by the vendor's display of discrimination.

At first I thought maybe your reading comprehension is failing you. But now I'm seeing that you're just trying to show your support for said vendor. I'll add you to the list.

I didn't make it to the show. Spent my small amount of mad money at Brumwell's flea market on several boxes of .223 ammo. Maybe I got a deal, Maybe I didn't. It is moot at this point!
Now to head to the range one day and go pew pew.
I do hope the show comes back.

I'm just a yankee, but the Confederate Flag is a symbolism of racism?
In 2023, the majority of Americans would say yes.

Let me ask you this. If you were a person of color going through that show and you saw that vendor, what would you think? You see an older white male, with a confederate flag not for sale but on his personal display. No other flags on display, just that one. What would you think? Then you glance at his items and one of the first things you see is a KKK knife. Do you think that's real welcoming?

I know I know, I'm dealing with MDShooters, predominantly middle-late aged white males, y'all just think it's OK since he'll say it's part of his heritage or something, right? Maybe take a second to truly reflect on what that flag stood for (a rebellion against the UNITED STATES in order to maintain slavery), and what good reason someone in 2023 would have with displaying it.

Ask someone in 2023, and ask someone in 2010, and 2000, and 1990. I would concede it probably has become a symbol of racism for people who view everything through the prism of race.

I don't really give a sh*t how someone else feels anymore. You don't feel welcome? Move on to the next booth. I don't feel welcome in a lot a places too. F*ck me, F*ck them, F*ck everyone.

    EDIT:
Now if you will excuse me, I have to bake a cake for a gay wedding.

You're right. Freedom of speech. He can have whatever he wants in his booth. The same freedom of speech allows me to judge him accordingly by labeling him as a racist.

Really would love to hear how you think that flag stands for anything other than racist ideology.

Just look at the Ukraine war. "Putin bad man." All the blue and yellow flag flyers act like history started in 2022. There's much more happening than just the invasion. Is Putin "bad man? yeah, but the story isn't as simple as "wanting the return of the Soviet Union's former glory"

We are over a hundred fifty years removed from the civil war and the story has been written by the victors. There was economic pressures and embargos put on the South that decimated their cotton trade and bankrupted them. So there is a "who the f*ck do you think you are?" aspect to the war. Was it only about slavery? Judging by the present's propaganda, my guess is, NO.

Yeah freedom of speech allows you to judge him, but it was sh*tty of you to call out a guy who was just selling merch. Was he ranting racist creeds at the show or something?

Wait, so you're really trying to tell me the civil war wasn't about slavery?

The guy proudly flying his confederate flag and slinging KKK items is a cool guy, but I'm the shitty one for calling him for what he is?

F this, I'm out. I heard MDShooters was full of racist. Didn't know it was this bad.

Good show. I was inside during the rain. Glad to have met Bigfoot and Someguy. I missed the historic items some are offended by, if one does not like the freedoms in this country of which Veterans fought for then roads with even numbers run North and South.
An Old guy had old boxes of 338 WinMag for $100 we talked about (got him down to $96) and when I began to ask about 300 wsm (which I also needed) he said yeah, not everyone can afford ammunition and he and his buddy started laughing at me so I simply said then you can afford to keep it!
So I tried to support MD gun shows, however, I grabbed some 20 ga. slugs and Hornady Black 300 bo there near MSI.

Oh, the Republican booth next to MSI ?? Did they think they were coming to a bastion of D's they wanted to convert? lol.

With the new laws coming down the tube I think a booth of Attorneys would do well at a MD gun show.

To the promoter, not enough room. No place to conjugate or even text friends info to come out and buy. Sad to see no place to sit and eat for the wives and kids. Food sales would have doubled.
Great to meet you in person, too. It was great to put a face to the name, thanks for coming by yesterday!

And...thanks to the rest of the MDS crowd that dropped by the MSI table yesterday at this show, it was good to see you.

For what it's worth, I thought the show was fun and that it had a good turnout. Lots of good people passed by the MSI table.

No I'm saying there's more meaning to the flag than just slavery.
Let me ask you this: what was his reaction when you called him a racist and a disgrace of a veteran?

I haven't been to Brumwell's in years. I just checked their website and it looks like they are planning on closing down. That is a bummer. I bought a lot of stuff there in the past.

It was a great show for us! Glad the show was well attended. In the future hope it will expand a little. As far as where this thread went off topic, all I'm gonna say is people need to read a history book.
