Any AK variants legal in MD?

Not entirely an AK per se but this rifle has piqued my interest a bit and may be worth more research. More to the topic point; legal in MD.

There was considerable trouble with some of the rifles on the initial roll out.
I had to send mine back to the factory in Colorado twice before they got the problems sorted out.
It runs 100% now but was very disappointing out the gate.

I also have a CMMG Mk47 Mutant https://www.cmmginc.com/shop/rifle-mk47-akm2-7-62x39mm-sbn-mutant/ which in some ways I like better and if I could only have one of the two it would be the CMMG.

Vepr rifles are legal. There are some up at Duffy's, they had one in 7.62 x 54R and the action is very much like a AK. It is just in a sporting rifle configuration with a 5 round mag.

True, but not every FFL will sell them. Engage won't.

Makes sense.

Additional reading makes it sound easier than a G3, although you should change the locking piece to keep the bolt closed longer.
