I have a question for a charter boat captain.

For a Captains license. Do you have to have worked on a charter boat for 365 days or does your recreational boat time count? Thanks!

I am pretty certain that your recreational boat time counts. It was years ago when I took the class. You just had to have the time documented in a log book. Sorry, I can't be positive. Someone else will chime in.

I would believe the guy with a profile pic of a boat. Something is telling me that he knows a little something about boats, but I can't put my finger in it....

I got my 100 ton masters in the 90s too.

Any boat works. Make sure your hours are logged. They may or may not look at your log book and investigate. If you can try and get some commercial hours in if possible ( mate for another captain or whatever).

Not sure if they still do the towing endorsement or not, but if so, it's only a few extra questions so you may as well go for it.

They only investigate if you screw up and hurt someone. Then they go back and see if you lied to get your CG license and if you did they nail you harder for the lying than for the accident that sparked the investigation.
